Co-Founder and Executive Director
Beyond her official titles at Be Filled of South Topeka, Brandi Brown understands the challenges faced by the community we serve because she was once where they are now. Using that perspective, she is driven to offer all-encompassing care while relaying an important message: It’s OK to struggle.
After 10-plus years of volunteering in Montara, Brandi felt led by God to start a multi-faceted resource center capable of addressing not only surface-level needs but those emotional and spiritual issues that often run deeper. Since founding Be Filled in 2021, her responsibilities have included overseeing volunteers, writing grants, developing and implementing programs and planning events and fundraisers. Brandi earned her master’s degree in social work in 2023 and incorporates that educational background into Be Filled’s mental health offerings. “Doing this is the biggest blessing and truly is soul-fulfilling work. My love for this work is indescribable,” Brandi says.
A lifelong Topekan, Brandi has two amazing children and three beautiful granddaughters. She considers the clients she serves and her fellow volunteers as family, too. Brandi pours herself into her work, but when she gets time away from volunteering, she enjoys being around her dogs and in nature.
